MEET THe Founders & Stewards of the Land

Phil & Donna Blakeway

Nukara began as a shared vision — a space shaped by love, hard work, and a deep respect for the natural environment. Over the years, we’ve poured our energy into transforming this bush block into an off-grid venue that feels both grounded and extraordinary.

In 2006–2007, we built the original Barn, ablution block, and stage in time for our own wedding — a joyful celebration with family and friends who had supported us every step of the way. From that special moment, Nukara has continued to grow and evolve into a one-of-a-kind venue, handcrafted using recycled materials that blend seamlessly with the landscape.

Today, Nukara is a place where people come to celebrate, reflect, connect, and create — all within the gentle rhythms of nature.
