Dear Mr and Mrs Blakeway,
Thankyou for letting us stay at your farm. I had a great time and I hope I can come again sometime.
Thankyou for teaching me new skills like how to catch marron and make damper. The food we had was really good and tasty! I liked everything that you made for us!
My favourite thing there was the trampoline. That was really fun. I also liked your fire. It was really cool, especially for drying my socks. I liked the way that you used a lot of recycled materials to construct beautiful things.
I enjoyed the tour that you took us on. It was great that you use so much eco things and that your farm is very environmentally friendly.

Education
The environmentally friendly property of Nukara is an excellent backdrop for learning and a unique and enjoyable venue for school camps and excursions.

Nukara Farm is located in the scenic Chapman Valley, only 26km from Geraldton and a world away from the confines of the classroom and urban environment.
We cater for everything from half-day excursions to week long school camps. With our local knowledge and experience we’ll work with you to tailor all that Nukara offers into a program to suit your educational needs.
Nukara Farm has been designed and developed to be an environmentally friendly venue. Nestled amongst the natural bush setting The Barn is our largest venue and includes a spacious undercover area, sprawling jarrah deck, bar and well equipped kitchen. It overlooks a large lawn area, shady River Red Gums and a creek which flows in the winter months. Our ablution area has canvas bucket styled showers and is run on 12 volt power, solar hot water and windmill pumped ground water supply. There is a large grassed camping ground for visitors to enjoy the open-air space, the freedom of camping and the beauty of natural bush.
Your hosts, Phil & Donna Blakeway, are passionate about educating all generations on the importance of caring for our waterways and native bushland to ensure they remain in a healthy condition for future generations to come. Visitors will see local wildlife with an abundance of birdlife, frogs and grazing kangaroos.
Activities that we can offer your group include:

In addition to the activities we can offer, you too can use the natural landscape and customised facilities of Nukara to demonstrate and explain many educational experiences:
- Utilise the natural landscape, topography, flora, fauna and climate for geography, geology, environmental studies and science
- Use the creativity of Nukara and its purpose-built Stage for art & design, performing arts and music
- Take in the entire venue for school camps, outdoor education and orientation excursions
For many years, Nukara has been very active in revegetation projects, planting wildlife corridors to join up nature reserves in farmland areas. In 2008 a group of Year 7 students participated in planting a carbon neutral site for the Men of Trees which saw 25,000 trees being planted. We have tree planting projects every year and if we have students here at the time they have the opportunity of having a positive impact on the land by planting native trees.
On another farm nearby we also have a protected Wetlands area with a bird hide where just on sunset you can see a large assortment of wetland birds. The birds that visit the wetlands are documented and information is sent to Birds Australia for record keeping.
If you are looking for an educational experience that extends far beyond the confines of a classroom, and into the real environment, we welcome you to Nukara. We look forward to sharing our beautiful property, facilities and expertise with your group.
